The annual nominations for the Bar Pro Bono Unit Award are now open. This is our 20th Anniversary and this award will be of particular significance. This award is to recognise a barrister or chambers who has made an outstanding contribution in regards to the criteria below.

Last year's winner was Joseph Middleton, of Doughty Street Chambers, whose outstanding Human Rights work earned him the accolade. 

This award is judged on, but not limited to, the following criteria:

  • the commitment of time by the barrister of chambers.
  • the importance of the assistance given.
  • innovation, inspiration or example in the work undertaken.
  • commitment to the pro bono ethic. 
  • to promote, and encourage others to engage in pro bono work.

To nominate someone, you must:

  • fill in the nomination form below.
  • have at least two supporting letters.

The deadline for nominations is Sunday 1 October 2016.
